Unraveling the fullness of Salvation within the feasts of the lord - Douglas Arukwe - Part 2

“Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea, all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, all ate the same spiritual food, and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ. But with most of them God was not well pleased, for their bodies were scattered in the wilderness.

Now these things became our examples, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted. And do not become idolaters as were some of them. As it is written, "The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play." Nor let us commit sexual immorality, as some of them did, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell; nor let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed by serpents; nor complain, as some of them also complained, and were destroyed by the destroyer. Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.” 1 Cor 10:1-11

The events, incidences, experiences and God’s words to Israel in Old Testament are for our examples, admonitions and instructions. They are highly necessary for our edification in this cruise.

It is really interesting and profiting to have the knowledge of the feasts of Jehovah for a better understanding of the journey to the image of Christ.

God delivered Israel from the house of bondage so as to hold a feast unto Him.

“Afterward Moses and Aaron went in and told Pharaoh, "Thus says the Lord God of Israel: 'Let My people go, that they may hold a feast to me in the wilderness.'" Ex 5:1

The children of Israel were commanded God by to appear before Him three times in a year. These three times are appointment time or feasts of the lord.

"Three times in the year all your men shall appear before the Lord, the Lord God of Israel.  For I will cast out the nations before you and enlarge your borders; neither will any man covet your land when you go up to appear before the Lord your God three times in the year. Ex 34:23-24

There are three major feasts the lord commanded the children of Israel to observe.

The Lord’s Passover
The Feast of the week
The Tabernacles

In these three feasts are seven feasts.

The first feast which is the feast of the Lord’s Passover contains three feasts. The feast of the weeks stands alone and the feasts of the Tabernacles contain three feasts.

  1. THE PASSOVER
  1. The Passover
  1. The Unleavened Bread
  1. The First Fruit
  1. THE SHAVOUT (THE FEAST OF WEEK WHICH IS ALSO CALLED THE FEAST OF PENTECOST)

  1. THE FEASTS OF THE TABERNACLES
A.    The Feast Of The Blowing Of Trumpet
B.     The Feast Of The day of Atonement
C.     The Feast Of The Tabernacles

The plan of God in redeeming man from sin till he comes to the fullness of God is revealed in the feasts of God. It is of great importance we know about these feasts and their significance. We can also relate these three major feasts to the Tabernacles of Moses that has three compartments which represent the journey of a man from natural realm to divine realm where he comes into union with God that leads to the formation of Christ in him.

In this new dispensation, we are not to observe these feasts literarily, but to know their spiritual significance and what they foreshadowed because they are road map to our predestination in Christ.
