Pastor
Olakunle observed that “God expects perfection from us” and therefore no one
was permitted to remain in the middle or beginning of the journey or phase with
God. “For Christ Jesus” he said, was our Lord, mirror, and bench mark. “And He
that descended is that same also that ascended up far above heavens, that He
might fill all things”.
Ephesians
4:12 says “And He gave some apostles, and some prophets, and some evangelists
and some pastors and some teachers.
For
the perfecting of the saints for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of
the body of Christ, adding, “till we all come in the unity of the faith and “of
the knowledge of the son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the
stature of the fullness of Christ”(V13)
The
seminar, according to Pastor Olakunle was intended to lose the chain and
fetters on Christians and tear the veil of ignorance so that thez people could
migrate from Pentecost to the feast of Tabernacles. He said it was time to
leave the irrelevant and lay hold of the relevant ; to move from the “natural
man” to the nature of Christ (divine nature); and to be able to track and
measure oneself spiritually.
Some
curious benefits of this seminar were the creative and purposeful linking of
the old to the new testament of the bible; in-depth exposition of the symbols
and metaphors. The trumpeters equally brought to the fore the significance of
the feasts of Israel both as divine timeline and spiritual compass instituted
by God for measuring time, seasons, and
spiritual progression. Again, that each of the feasts represented a dimension
of Christ Jesus to us so that we could progress from one point to another in
Him till the fullness of Him was accomplished in us.
Pastor
Ademola Akinyemi agreed no less hinting that the wilderness as high points in
the spirit was not meant to be the final destination. That Pentecost and
pentecostalism were as dangerous as the wilderness adding, that once the presence
of God “departs a point in time, the forces of darkness invade that same place.
He emphasized that as the enemies (like the Amalekites, Amorites etcetera)
tailed the Israelites through the wilderness in those days so also it happened
to all believers even now.
That
Amalekites, Hivites, Amorites etcetera, were evil spirits working in human
agents to oppose the journey to the land of promise. He contended that the
pillars of fire and cloud which indicated the presence of God, were introduced
to make the people know it was a journey being dictated by God and at His own
pace.
Therefore
he noted that to remain at a spot after God’s presence had moved was tantamount
to giving oneself to his enemies. But why really should the people of God move
out of Egypt in the first place? Queried Pastor Adeyemi in a manner suggestive
of one fully resolved to ensure his audience was not lost as the exposition
paced from the deep to the deeper and from the outer court to the holy of
holies.
At
this point, reference was made to the foundation laid by Pastor Olakunle that
God’s message to Pharaoh through Moses revealed the importance God places on
the feasts saying “let my people go…that they may offer a feast unto me.”
(Exodus 5:1)
Olakunle
explained that feast unto God was the way to offer Him the service God
(Himself) requested of any man. That the feasts were the denominators of man’s
interaction with God, adding, that without the feast(s), the people could not
go into God’s purpose nor grow in Him.
Furthermore,
he explicated that the entire salvation package of God to man was contained in
the seven feasts instituted by God for Israel, His first born.
