Following refreshing outpouring of the riches of the
knowledge of God’s kingdom, it is becoming certain that the sheets of veil upon
the book of Revelation, which incidentally is the last book of the bible, are
now giving way.
At a seminar held recently at the Church of the
Apocalypse, Surulere, Lagos, South Western part of Nigeria, a comprehensive
diagnosis of the “Man-Child” was undertaken. In itself, the theme of the two-day event “The Birth
of The Man-Child” arouses curiosity much as it is suggestive of something
deeper than what superficial Christianity could offer or cherish. Again,
drawing from the well of (scriptural) wealth in Revelation, the twelfth
chapter, it was clear from the on-set that the seminar was heading in the
direction of the “unusual”.
From the first verse, “And there appeared a great wonder in heaven, a woman clothed with the
sun and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars.”
“And
she, being with child cried, travailing in birth and pained to be delivered.”
The third verse reads; “And there appeared another wonder in heaven, and behold
a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his
head.”
Pastor Sam Oyelese, a teacher of the gospel of God’s kingdom, took time to explain the symbols and allegorical representation in this and other portions of the bible. Laying the foundation for his teaching, he referred to God as the creator of all, who “delights in investing” some of His creatures with the properties of another while describing the former. This practice was as old as the holy book, he noted, adding that all over the scripture, God used symbols to communicate with His people and the earth in general. To him therefore, it was imperative for anyone to understand the language of God if he/ she must communicate with Him. He buttressed this position with references to the first verse of the main text- Revelation 12 where a woman was seen travailing to give birth. This “woman” is a symbol of a city as disclosed in Revelation chapter 17 verse18 “and the woman whom thou sawest, is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.” She was described as a woman because of the ability or capability to reproduce life.
Reiterating the need to be conscious (of) and be
well- learned in the use of symbols in the bible, he stressed that without this
knowledge, a reader or student of the bible would not understand, let alone
interpret the heart of God in communicating with Him. God also makes use of
numbers and colours as scriptural milestones to establish pattern of truth.
Some of the instances cited by him cut across the old and new testament;Other notable symbols and their meaning.
Light means Knowledge, something good.
Darkness means Ignorance, something evil.
Seed means Life Lion means Leadership, quality of strength, courage.
Lamb means purity, meekness.
In the book of Genesis 37; 8-10, Joseph in a dream
saw the sun, moon and twelve stars bowing to him. And in translating these
symbols, Joseph’s father, Jacob, said the sun represented himself, while the
moon and the stars stood for his mother (Rachel) and his siblings
respectively;. In like manner, Pastor Oyelese pointed out that Paul, the
apostle (1 Corinthians 3; 9), referred to humans as God’s vineyard “For we are
labourers together unto God, ye are God’s husbandry (vineyard), we are God’s
building.”
In a stupefying and dramatic fashion, God spoke to
Apostle Peter in a vision, (Acts 10;1-16) where he was presented with all
manners “of four-footed beasts of the earth, wild beasts, and creeping things
and fowls of the air”, as symbolic representation of all human tribes, outside
the Jews, otherwise known as the Gentiles.
Having laid the foundation of his teaching on the
significance and benefits of decoding biblical symbols and allegories, Pastor
Oyelese noted that the last book of the bible, Revelation, was a prophetic
unveiling of things to happen in future regarding the manifestation and
berthing of God’s kingdom on earth. In addition, he explained that both the prophetic
signs and numbers (numerology) coded in the scripture particularly in
revelation, were now manifesting all over the earth, showing that the end of
the age was quite near.
The emergence of the six-six-six (666), or the man of sin, decaying of nature, and the delivery of the man-child were all taking place now.Given the tenacity and dexterity with which his message was conveyed, Pastor Sam Oyelese left no one in doubt that the issue(s) at hand was (were) of high premium. In Oyelese’s view, the “total or complete reign of the devil over the soul of a man is the meaning of the 666”, adding that the take-over must happen at three levels namely-the realm of the spirit, the soul, and body.
Within the first six verses of Revelation chapter 12, it is stated, that the birth of the man-child would serve as a precursor to the dethronement of Satan, that old dragon, from the second heaven.
The seventh verse reads “and there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon fought and his angels and prevailed not, neither was their place found anymore in the heaven.”
Being prophetic in nature, the book of Revelation makes it clear that the influence exercised by Satan over nations all this while, was made possible by his access to the second heaven where the sun, the moon and stars are located. The end of Satan’s occupation of the cosmos had been pre-determined by God Almighty as part of end time plan for the earth.
