Clearing the Conscience of the Worshiper - PART 2
This is an illustration for the present time, indicating that the gifts and sacrifices being offered were not able to clear the conscience of the worshiper. (Hebrews 9:9)
The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming-not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship. If it could, would they not have stopped being offered? For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt guilty for their sins. (Hebrews 10:1,2)
What does Hebrews mean by saying "the gifts and sacrifices being offered were not able to clear the conscience of the worshiper"; "the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt guilty for their sins"?
I think we can gain the biblical understanding by referring to a passage from the Book of Romans.
What Is Faith? - PART 2
But that no man is
justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall
live by faith. (Galatians 3:11)
The current Christian
concept sees God restoring Adam and Eve to Eden, not on the basis of a
transformation of their personalities into the image of God but on the basis of
mercy and forgiveness. This would be to change what God is. It would be to
change God to the point that He is willing to dwell with lawlessness.
What, then, is the
meaning of this expression that originated in the Old Testament and is repeated
three times in the New Testament? The entire Scriptures are the definition of
"the just shall live by faith," for this principle always has
governed men—it is not just for the Christian Era. In addition, the Spirit of
God has summarized the principle in Hebrews 10:38-11:40.
The "Singles" Group - Part 5
Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved? I raised thee up under the apple tree: there thy mother brought thee forth: there she brought thee forth that bare thee. (Song of Solomon 8:5) The "singles" will not accept the concept that the Bride is being chastened. They will quickly withdraw themselves from the Lord's holy fire and will join with those who find their strength and help in their fellow man. "Togetherness" is the cry of the "singles." But the Bride is being guided into the "wilderness" in order to perfect her relationship to her Lord. The Lord will employ persecution to remove the "singles" from the true Wife of the Lamb. The Bride always is ready to suffer and die for the Lord. The spiritual "singles" look for what the Lord will do for them, how they can profit from bearing His name. When persecution and offenses arise the "singles" will find it convenient to set aside the name of Jesus for a season. |
The Power of Prophetic Vision - Louis E. Eke (PART 5)
Prophetic company has been sent forth to the earth to sound the alarm; their primary burden and commission is to stir the Church to repentance and point her once again to the next level of kingdom experience. In line with the prophetic thrust of Bible times, the prophetic ministry today is to provoke the kind of repentance that is deep and genuine and prepare the Church for the ultimate battle of the age.
The body of Christ will first return to God in
righteousness and true holiness, in preparation for the ministry of the last
harvest. This ministry will make ready a company of people fully prepared for
the Lord Jesus Christ, who will manifest His fullness in the saints first
before His physical return to earth. For thus says the Lord:
Every valley shall be exalted and every mountain and hill
shall be made low, and the crooked path shall be made straight, and the rough
places plain. And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall
see it, for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it. (Isaiah 40:4-5).
Jesus’ Pattern For Church Building by Isaac Arikawe (PART 5)
“David did not win any of his battle because he was a professional; he won because he was prophetical. My greatest desire is to understand the mind of God per time”
“Don't be ridiculous!” Saul replied, “There's no way you
can fight this Philistine and possibly win! You're only a boy, and he's been a
man of war since his youth ………” “I can't go in these,” (Saul armor of war) he
protest to Saul. “I'm not used to them” so David took off again.
1 Samuel 17:33&39b).
The church of Jesus Christ is absolutely different from
religious assemblies in identity, structure and potency because of the process
it had to go through. We shall consider the nature of these processes one after
the other.
I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH II
In the past chapters, we tried to define the true meaning
of the word Church and its origin. We
came to a conclusion that the original Greek meaning of church is Ekklesia,
which by interpretation means “assembly” or “called out.” We also looked at
other types of assemblies that were called out for other purpose. We compared
different assemblies and their features and we did also checked the principles
behind Jesus' declaration, “I will build my church.
At this juncture, we will be making use of the words
“assembly” or “called out” interchangeably in place of the word “Church” as the
case may be.

US military relaxes uniform rules for religious items
Muslim, Sikh, Jewish and Wiccan soldiers, marines, sailors and airmen can now request exemptions to strict military uniform and grooming policies.
Requests will be evaluated individually and can be denied if they hinder military readiness.
Previously, at least three Sikhs had won specific accommodation.
'A step forward'
Service members' requests for a religious accommodation will be weighed on a case-by-case basis to ensure they do not impact "mission accomplishment, unit cohesion, and good order and discipline", Lt Cmdr Nate Christensen told the BBC.
And appeals to be allowed to wear beards or special apparel, for example, may be denied if they hinder the safe operation of weapons or military equipment, such as helmets or protective masks.
VIDEO: Kid escapes unharmed after being run over by a car
This is really unbelievable. A little boy and Grandmother escaped unharmed after being run over by a car during a vehicle accident in Brazil.
Translation of the TV commentary reveals that 'The child and the grandmother have already left the hospital and are doing fine, thank God.' Both sustained minor injuries.
Watch the video to see this marvelous escape.

Clearing the Conscience of the Worshiper
This is an illustration for the present time, indicating that the gifts and sacrifices being offered were not able to clear the conscience of the worshiper. (Hebrews 9:9)
The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming-not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship. If it could, would they not have stopped being offered? For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt guilty for their sins. (Hebrews 10:1,2)
The Book of Hebrews states that the new covenant is superior to the old covenant, to the Law of Moses. It often is expressed that the new covenant is superior because it includes a better forgiveness. Although under the Law of Moses the worshiper supposedly was forgiven through the shedding of the blood of bulls and goats, in actuality the forgiveness of the old covenant merely lo oked forward to Calvary. Now, however, under the new covenant, we really are forgiven, it is claimed.
All hell breaks loose over Christian Oscar nod
Like David versus Goliath, an upstart Christian film has shocked the world by winning an unlikely victory in the form of an Academy Award nomination. Only this time, the crowds aren’t cheering for David. Instead, mainstream-media Oscar watchers across the nation have blasted the Academy for choosing the hymn-like testament to God’s presence over hits by pop artists like Jay-Z and Taylor Swift. “I can’t figure any of this s— out,” an unnamed competitor told the Hollywood Reporter, or THR, after learning his or her song was beaten out by “Alone Yet Not Alone,” the title song from the faith-themed movie of the same name.
“It is difficult to understand why ‘Alone Yet Not Alone’ snagged an Oscar nomination over more acclaimed and high-profile competitors,” THR remarked, claiming multiple people whose songs were snubbed by Academy’s music branch wonder how “a song that has been heard by virtually no one outside the branch from a film that hardly anyone has seen” secured an Oscar nomination. Across the country, dozens of Hollywood-watching publications were quick to heap criticism on “Alone Yet Not Alone.” The Wire called the song “the year’s most WTF [what the f---] Oscar nominee,” and Ty Burr of Boston Globe penned a blog post about “Alone Yet Not Alone” titled “The Oscar nomination that stinks to heaven.” “Its inclusion is questionable, and evidence that strides still need to be made when it comes to the Oscar song field,” reads a particularly pointed criticism from the Los Angeles Times.
What Is Faith? - Part 1
Behold, his soul which
is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.
(Habakkuk 2:4)
The Scriptures reveal
the true faith, and the understanding of the statement, "the just shall
live by faith." True scriptural faith always comes from God into the
spirit of the believer, not from the mental and soulish efforts of the
individual. True faith always is employed to find the will of God and to do it,
not to direct God to do whatever the Christian desires. True faith always lives
in works. There is no such thing as an abstract faith, a faith not expressed in
some kind of works. To live by faith is not to adopt a doctrinal position but
to live in a close relationship with God, always depending on Him for all our
needs.
We have come to the
conclusion after many years of thought and experience that there are major
errors in current Christian thinking. Somehow our concept of the plan of
salvation has gotten off course. The fruit of the error can be observed in the
pathetic state of the Christian testimony in the so-called "free"
nations of our day.
It seems to us that at
least part of the problem arises from our interpretation of the cry of the
Protestant Reformers, "the just shall live by faith." In particular,
the error springs from our understanding of faith.

Homosexuality can be cured like other ‘bodily deficiencies’ such as high blood pressure: new cardinal
MADRID and ROME — Spain’s newly appointed cardinal to Rome has insisted that homosexuality can be cured with treatment and likened it to other “bodily deficiencies” such as high blood pressure.
The comments by Fernando Sebastian Aguilar, who was named one of 19 new cardinals by Pope Francis last week, provoked an immediate backlash in Spain.
The 84-year-old Archbishop Emeritus of Pamplona said: “Homosexuality is a deficient way of manifesting sexuality because [sexuality] has a structure and a purpose, which is procreation. Homosexuality, which can’t achieve this purpose, is a failing,” he said in an interview with Malaga-based newspaper Diario Sur, published on Sunday.
Snake-handling preacher dies from rattlesnake bite in West Virginia
West Virginia preacher Mark Randall "Mack" Wolford, who believed Christians should handle snakes to test their faith, died after a rattlesnake bit him over the weekend.
Wolford was bitten on the thigh about 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon, but he didn't come to the hospital until 10:30 p.m., a nursing supervisor at Bluefield Regional Medical Center told the Charleston Daily Mail. The incident occurred during an outdoor service at Panther State Forest, about 80 miles west of Bluefield in southern West Virginia, the paper said.
